Felt it was about time that I actually started using my blog, as I sit here in between meals before stepping on stage at the UKDFBA British natural bodybuilding finals in Coventry (England). It has been a challenging and very rewarding first year competing in a sport I have always had a passion for until I made the decision in June 2015 to take my training and nutrition to the next level and actually step on stage. A year that has saw me pick up:
Why Bodybuilding I hear you ask……? Well, quite simply it is a sport that I absolutely love for a number of reasons. Firstly, in my opinion it is one that takes an incredible amount of self discipline to training and nutrition in order to reach your goal, which is of course to do well on stage against your competition. Secondly, in my case, it has improved my mood, my lifestyle, my confidence and my outlook on life. And finally, knowing that only a very small proportion of the population have the dedication, commitment and work ethic to go through what we bodybuilders do and come out the other side.
And this third point leads me onto another positive outcome from my involvement in bodybuilding. And that’s meeting so many new people in our industry, many of who I can now call friends. True, there will be some who revel in ones failures and feel it gives them some kind of comfort to see your level of success be limited, which I have never understood but each to their own I suppose! However surrounding yourself with positive and like minded individuals WILL help massively in pushing you on to achieve anything in life, in or out of bodybuilding.
Another positive side effect of my involvement in the sport has been the increasing popularity and reputation of my online coaching business “AllOrNothing Fitness & Nutrition” which will be celebrating its first year in business come the end of 2016. In that time, many people have not only reached their goals but have been educated, enlightened and given the tools needed to sustain their new lifestyle.
So I would like to thank everyone who has followed and supported my journey til this point whether its family, friends, clients or across social media. And this is only the end of the 2016 season……there is PLENTY more to come from me in the future.
Do what makes you happy, and ignore any distractions.
