There are a few staple foods I like to include in the supermarket haul that ensures I'll stay on track and keep me fuelled! Of course, your nutrition all comes down to taste but I thought I would share with you what I tend to go for.
My greens come from Spinach, Broccoli and Green Beans for a variety of fiber sources and micronutrients. When it comes to colourful veg, it's mixed peppers, tomatoes and red onion!
My go to fruits for now are bananas (perfect pre or post training if ripe enough) and blueberries or mixed berries (great in oats). These also provide great sources of potassium, antioxidants and micronutrients too!
Main Carb Sources
My main carb sources of choice are Oats, Cereals (frosties or cheerios), White Potato, Basmati Rice, Bagels, Jam and Golden Syrup. Uses of these vary depending on time of day and if pre or post training when my carb intake is higher.
I buy most of my meats from Musclefood but I do pick up free range eggs, lean venison or steak burgers, sirloin steaks and minced turkey burgers from my local supermarket too. Occasionally fish, but went off this after last prep!
Whey protein wise I use "UMF Bio Whey Isolate" from Genetic Supplements.
As well as getting good fats from whole eggs, I also use almonds, olive oil (sometimes a little coconut oil), red meats, dark chocolate and peanut butter. Who doesn't love peanut butter nowadays!
For the past 8 years I have actively been a fan of working out and resistance training. In the last 5 years, I've placed a additional focus towards bodybuilding. While I was going through my own transformation, I became increasingly interested in the nutritional aspect of health and fitness as I saw my physique and general wellbeing improving each day.
I then took my own journey to the next level and competed in a number of bodybuilding competitions in 2016. I competed in 3 qualifier shows across 3 federations and picked up a 1st place and 2 x 2nd place trophies. I also competed at National level for the UKDFBA federation in late 2016.
After undertaking some online courses with the likes of precision nutrition I became fully qualified as an advanced sports nutritionist and currently I am enrolled in the next intake for the Mac-Nutrition University course ran by leading industry Nutrition expert Martin MacDonald
I began coaching mostly helping others that I knew from social circles and from my local gym. Initially it was simply on an advisory level and assisting others to help them determine their macro breakdown. After noticing moments of plateau, I began making simple changes to help move them improve even further.
This then evolved into a knowledge, education and experience service. The personal level of service and involvement in all aspects of my clients journey saw results being made consistently.
My passion in life was then undoubtedly helping others and the buzz that I felt seeing clients taking those steps towards their goals. I was hooked, I knew that I had found my true vocation in life and was driven from that point to develop and expand AllOrNothing Fitness & Nutrition into a global coaching community.
Since 2015, #TeamAoN has helped hundreds of clients from USA, Europe, Asia and Australia achieve their goals. And I am even more determined and focused on expanding further and reaching and helping as many people as I can.
I see the fitness industry as being saturated with coaches who are more concerned with making a quick buck rather than focusing on what should be their ONLY goal. And that is guiding and educating your clients towards their goals in a heathy and sustainable fashion.
